Buttsitis.

Preparing to return home from Green Bay Monday morning, I called my mother from Bullshit’s cell phone and received a particularly crabby response.
I wondered what was going on. Had the J-Man been incorrigible? I doubted that. Was she pissed at me just for not being there? Possibly. I hung up soon afterwards and prepared for a snotty reception when I arrived home.
A couple of hours later, my mom called Bullshit back. “Tell Jen I’m sorry for being a crab. It’s just that my butt hurts.”
We were stopping for lunch at the time, and this broke our little road-tripping group up. Why my mother felt the need to share this with Bullshit I will never know - perhaps this is a sign that she has welcomed him into the fold - but he certainly was not going to let such a priceless anecdote go untold.
All week my mom has been complaining of a pain in the ass, and for once it isn’t me. She’s been limping around the house, moaning and groaning and finding it hard to walk up and down the stairs.
I have been perplexed. I’ve suggested a heating pad and the pain patches I have for my back, which have done absolutely no good; and muscle relaxers and painkillers, which she won’t touch.
Finally she took her aching tuckus to the doctor and was told that she has bursitis in her butt.
Bursitis. In her butt.
This sort of thing would only happen in my household, above which there is a cloud that rains strangeness.
She was given some type of anti-inflammatory medication and sent on her merry, sore-assed way. The J-Man and I have redefined this condition as Buttsitis and are desperately hoping that it is not contagious, although we do love saying “Buttsitis”.
Heh heh heh.
My poor mom.
