It stiiiiiinks in my house.
The water seeping up through the basement is stanky. For real. It smells like the LA Lakers’ weekly sweatsock load combined with moldy cat poo combined with a tree that has been dead, rotten, and worm-infested for at least forty thousand years.
Plus a really rancid fart.
Most of the stank is in the basement, naturally, but when one is in the kitchen pouring coffee or in the bathroom brushing one’s teeth stank comes roaring up the vents and it is really most unpleasant.
I have been frantically wet-vaccing the rug - source of much of the stank - and have been mopping the stank-water still seeping up through the floor, and we are also going to purchase a de-humidifier to de-stankify the stanky air.
The TranceCave is a rancid swamp. I am sleeping on the couch because my little red palace o’ love is nothing more than a humid, ripe, puddle.
Until the seepage stops and the stank has ceased, we are doomed to live in funk-de-fied air, holding our noses and wondering whether ten bottles of Febreze and a few hundred canisters of air freshener would help our smelly situation.
I still haven’t showered because really, would it matter?

My parents’ finished basement flooded when I was living there in the bedroom in the basement. It was such a mess- the drying out of the carpet and the funky water- ugh. I sympathize & hope you dry out soon!
