Cleveland Does Not, In Fact, Rock.

I am supposed to leave for Cleveland on Thursday. Bullshit and I have our plane tickets and everything.
I have not been sleeping because of some small niggling doubt that all is not right with the universe, because of a small persistent fear that something will go wrong with this trip, a premonition that my insurance would fall through, something - and today my fears were realized when I called the Cleveland Clinic’s insurance administrator out of nothing more than sheer paranoia just to check whether everything was kosher only to find out that the Cleveland Clinic is no longer accepting out-of-state Medicaid.
You are SHITTING me.
I made the appointment in JUNE.
The administrator, flustered, is calling me back.
I - who am in the middle of baking pies because we went to the apple orchard this weekend and have twenty fucking pounds of apples to deal with - could use a good stiff drink and quite possibly a stint of hitting something very, very hard.
Perhaps I should throw pies.
I will update as this situation progresses.

That is complete bullshit. And yes, they CAN make an exception. They can do whatever they want, so long as it’s not Medicaid saying “no.” If they’ve decided to stop taking it, what was the effective date of that change? Because if it was after you booked your appointment, they owe you. And you go all the way up to the CEO if you have to.

That is complete shit. If they made the decision to not accept your insurance after you made the appointment they should have called you to cancell the appointment with an explaination. Since they didn’t they should still see you. There must be a supervisor who you can make the exception. Do they know you have plane tickets? Sheesh!
